The online market-place is crowded, whatever your field of expertise. But that doesn’t mean that as a new coach, creative or wellbeing expert you can’t rise the ranks to become known as the expert in your field. It takes time, but once you master the art of promoting yourself online, the rewards are significant.
You can reach a far larger audience if you have a strong online presence
You can extend your business to sell digital products, ebooks, courses, graphics bundles and loads of other types of passive income generators
You will be known as THE expert in your field, constantly getting tagged in Facebook groups and building a waiting list of eager clients – imagine that?!
It’s actually not as hard as you would think to build this kind of online fame for your business. And this is exactly what I teach in The Publicity Program – the methods I used when working with big international charities, and which I have adapted and refined to perfectly help beautiful entrepreneurs like you.
What it does take is perseverance, organisation, and a little bit of know-how, and as soon as you know it, you’ll be flying.
So today, I wanted to share with you my three favourite ways that you can start to position yourself as the expert online, today!
1. Guest blogging
Guest blogging is such an amazing way to build your audience, boost your email list and showcase your expertise to more and more people. The joy of guest blogging, is that unlike traditional PR, you are writing the article in your own words, so readers will really get a feel for what you are like. You don’t need to have been in business for years to snag the top spots, I got my first guest blogging gig within the first few months, and I’ve helped new business owners get featured in places like The Huffington Post from the get-go.
2. Get interviewed
Whether it be on Podcasts, Masterclasses or any other online show, getting interviewed is THE way to showcase your skills and raise your game. Podcasts are listened to by thousands, if not millions, of people who need to know what you have to share. Don’t be scared, prep in advance and get yourself out there!
Yup, you read that right, socialising online is such a great way to raise your profile and position yourself as the expert. And whilst it can be fun to share pictures of your kitten/ new handbag/ fun night out (delete as appropriate), I’m talking about striking up meaningful conversations with people who could actually benefit from what you have to say.
If you’ve been with me a while, you’ll know how much of a fan of Facebook groups I am (hey come and join my lovely Biz Stars!). They are a great way to get more people knowing, liking and trusting you. I like to choose a handful of groups where I pop in daily, answer questions, chat and post tips and advice (but NEVER spam – always check the group rules before self-promoting). One of the best things you can do to make this all more manageable is to use the search function within larger groups. Type words which are relevant to your industry, and all the posts with those words will show up. Then you can set about answering questions, providing useful tips and advice to people who are actually looking for your type of service!
